Notice: Public Hearing Upper Nazareth Township

The Board of Supervisors of Upper Nazareth Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, will conduct Public Hearing and consider adoption of the following proposed Ordinance at its Regular Meeting on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Upper Nazareth Township Municipal Building, 100 Newport Avenue, Nazareth, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

The Board of Supervisors invite public comment on the proposed Ordinance, the following of which is only a summary:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE UPPER NAZARETH TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS PROVIDING FOR A QUESTION TO BE PLACED BEFORE THE VOTERS OF UPPER NAZARETH TOWNSHIP BY A REFERENDUM AT THE ELECTION OF NOVEMBER 5, 2019, ASKING WHETHER THE ELECTORS OF UPPER NAZARETH TOWNSHIP FAVOR THE IMPOSITION OF AN ADDITIONAL EARNED INCOME TAX AT THE RATE OF 0.25% BY UPPER NAZARETH TOWNSHIP TO BE USED FOR FINANCING THE ACQUISITION OF OPEN SPACE; FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING FOREST AND AGRICULTURAL CONSERVATION EASEMENTS; FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS; AND FOR RELATED FEES AND EXPENSES AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW; THE BALLOT QUESTION IS AUTHORIZED BY ACT 153 OF 1996, TITLE 32 P.S. SECTION 5007.1, ET SEQ, AS AMENDED.

Copies of the proposed Ordinance are available for public inspection at the Upper Nazareth Township Municipal Building 100 Newport Avenue, Nazareth, Pennsylvania between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Copies are also available at the Northampton County Law Library, Northampton County Courthouse 669 Washington Street, Easton, PA.
