PUBLIC COMMENT

A resident on Tatamy Road reported that Sunday’s storms delivered 4.5 feet of water to his cellar and this as been a continuing problem over recent years. He said the Fire Department was good at helping during these situations but there has been no stormwater remediation on his block. The Engineer said that they have looked at that area but there are no easy solutions. They are hoping to take action in the future, but it will be costly.

A 4th Street resident asked the Supervisors if there’s been any review of the model ordinance that non-profit PennFuture has developed which, they claim, would allow municipalities to have more of a say over warehouse development. Scott Sylvainus said that the Planning Commission has received a copy of the ordinance and is reviewing it.

I told the Supervisors that there is a lot of broken glass on the roads in Farmview Estates which might result from recycling pickup or from another cause. Public Works will take a look.

ENGINEER

Supervisors discussed a proposal to do the first stage of a Traffic Study at Knauss Road. (A car recently drove into the house there, injuring a resident). The study will include both traffic counts and evaluations of speed and the price will be split 50-50 with Bushkill Township. The Supervisors decided to table the vote until Mike Rinker and Robert Disbrow are present and after another discussion with Bushkill Twp.

A field meeting with the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has been scheduled for next Wednesday at the Rail Road Crossing on Gun Club Road

The Engineer reported that the developer at Eagle’s Landing did not construct the stormwater basin to the approved design and the Township no longer has escrow funds available. UNT is waiting for guidance from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

SOLICITOR
