PUBLIC COMMENT

William Bartlett of 4th Street, reported that several street lights are out in Farmview Estates. Public Works said the procedure to getting a street light fixed is to notify Kim Mutarelli at the Township Office (secretary@uppernazarethtownship.org) and she will call the electric company to arrange the repair.

A resident distributed paperwork to the Supervisors and Solicitor about the Oath of Office and the Qualifications someone must have before they assume an elected position.

SUPERVISORS

The Supervisors discussed reports of speeding on Schoeneck Ave. Police Chief Cope said that he does not have any facts which show speeding is a problem there except for occasional vehicles. He said the cars may seem like they’re moving faster because the houses are so close to the road.

Brian Sayago asked about updating the noise ordinance since it is so difficult to enforce. Lisa Klem said Planning is looking into it and they are reviewing ordinances in other municipalities

ENGINEER

The Engineer recommended doing a low-level fact finding study to determine how best to address issues with traffic from the Intermediate School onto 4th Street. Estimated cost would be $800. Brian Sayago suggested they speak to the Superintendent first and see if a deal can be worked out. Scott Sylvainus suggested the easiest and friendliest way to solve this issue is to install a gate which automatically closes after a car drives through. Lisa Klem said she has spoken to the Superintendent about this previously and he is aware of the issue. Police Chief Cope has been in communication with the NASD police about the gate. Supervisors tabled the vote on the study until after the township’s discussion with the school district.
