Upper Nazareth Township Meetings

The Planning Commission of the Township of Upper Nazareth, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, will conduct a Public Hearing and consider recommendations to the Upper Nazareth Township Board of Supervisors with regard to comprehensive amendments to the Upper Nazareth Township Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map at its regular meeting on October 10, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the Upper Nazareth Township Municipal Building, 100 Newport Avenue, Upper Nazareth Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

The Upper Nazareth Township Planning Commission invites public comment on this comprehensive Amendment to the Upper Nazareth Township Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map including, but not limited to, the following provisions: Zoning Map amendments identifying zoning districts and regulating the use of land and the location, use and density of buildings within those districts, general provisions and administration, designation of base zoning districts, base zoning district regulations, zoning overlay regulations, additional requirements for uses permitted by right, supplemental regulations, conditional uses and special exceptions, environmental protection, performance standards, off-street parking and loading, signs, and definitions. This Ordinance permits, prohibits, regulates, restricts, and determines the uses of land, watercourses and other bodies of water; the size, height, bulk, locations, erection, construction, repair, maintenance, alteration, razing, removal and use of structures; the areas and dimensions of land and bodies of water to be occupied by uses and structures, as well as areas, courts, yards, and other open spaces and distances to be left unoccupied by uses and structures; and the density of population and intensity of use; and further the Ordinance contains provisions for exceptions and variances to be administered by a Zoning Hearing Board; conditional uses to be administered by the Board of Supervisors; provisions for administration and enforcement and such other provisions as may be necessary to implement the requirements of the Ordinance.

Copies of the proposed Ordinance including text and Zoning Map are available for public inspection or may be obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof at the Upper Nazareth Township Municipal Offices, 100 Newport Avenue, Upper Nazareth Township, Pennsylvania between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as on the Upper Nazareth Township website.
