PUBLIC COMMENT
A Georgetown Road resident asked about a streetlight near his house which has been dark for a month. He was told that that is a State streetlight and someone will have to contact the State.
A resident of Sycamore Street asked about construction at the detention pond. The Engineer explained that the swale has been installed but stream bank restoration and plantings still have to be finished. The Engineer pointed out that the area does not actually have a detention pond, the structure is designed to keep sediment out of the stream. The design also allows water to sink into the soil so mosquitoes shouldn’t be an issue. The engineer offered to investigate the report of water running down Sycamore St. during storms if the Board instructs him to do so.
I asked about plans for establishing permitted parking in Farmview Estates during school hours. The Township is looking at similar ordinances used by other municipalities.

PUBLIC WORKS
Shawn Shupe reported that he examined the Faust detention basin (located near 2nd Street and Mt. Vernon Ave) but will have to wait for an Inspection Report. He did not see any erosion and no exposed pipes, but admitted the basin may be undersized. He recommended a field survey. Brian Sayago pointed out that the basin is not working as the township wants it to. Scott Sylvainus said that, at this stage, any cooperation from the landowner would be voluntary. He said it might be better to wait for a decision from the State court on Faust’s lawsuit to expand building on the property. It would be easier to address the stormwater issue then.
MS4
The Engineer reported that the Tewksbury basis was seeded today and that baffle walls still need to be installed.
EAC
Approval to seek bids for Farming leases for a 33-acre parcel off Newburg Road.
William Bartlett reported that the first site treatment has taken place at the park at Gun Club Road/Newburg Road. With the invasive weeds in the area, the park won’t be able to be planted until Fall of 2025. Public Works was requested to post a sign on the property – “Conservation Project in Progress.”
Becky Bartlett covers these meetings because citizens have a right to know what their government is doing.
