Upper Nazareth Supervisor’s Meeting – March 5, 2025

ANNOUNCEMENTS/EVENTS

There is an open position on the Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC). Residents interested in serving should send a Letter of Interest to the Township Office.

March 29, 2025 – Wellness Day at Liebert’s Field from 10AM to 2PM (Rain date – March 30)

March 31st – April 4th – Street Sweeping

April 12th – Easter Egg Hunt at 12N at Liebert’s Field. Rain date – 4/13 at 2:00PM

April 14th – Curbside collection begins

April 19th – Yard Waste Facility opens

June 6, 2025 – Movie Night at Tuskes Park—Toy Story (30th Anniversary of that movie)

June 14, 2025 – Electronic Recycling Event at Tuskes Park and 155 Friedenstahl Avenue

August 23, 2025 – Movie Night at Tuskes Park

November 28, 2025 – Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Township Building

Solicitor Gary Asteak introduced Jeremy Clark who is running for a position on the Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Clark introduced himself, explaining that he’s been a resident of Easton for 18 years, was an officer with the 82nd Airborne, served in three deployments and has worked in Civil litigation and as a divorce mediator.

I thanked Public Works for putting up the “No Parking during School Hours” signs on the west side of 4th and 5th Streets. The signs have already improved parking and driving conditions in that area. Public Works will install signs on the east side of the streets soon.

TOWNSHIP ENGINEER

Denied – a request from the Tadmor 2 development for a Letter of Credit Reduction. The Engineer pointed out that work still needs to be done on the Rail Road Crossing and Route 248 and that these projects have been outstanding for over a year.

Several projects are in development including work on plans to rehab the Penn Dixie Bridge.

TOWNSHIP MANAGER

Approval to award a bid from Burke for playground equipment at Sycamore Park at a cost of $345,672. ($120,000 of this will be covered by a Livable Landscape grant).

Approval to switch vendors for washing work clothes to Cintas. The agreement will be for 5 years and the cost will be half of the current rate.

EAC

Brian Sayago said the Environmental Advisory Committee has not been able to come to a consensus on the proposed Trail Feasibility Study and is still gathering information.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

Approval for a Conditional Offer of Employment for 1 part-time officer.

The department received its new car recently.

Approval to put a 2015 Ford Explorer up for sale on Municibid.

FIRE DEPARTMENT

Approval to hold an Easter Egg Hunt at Liebert Field on April 12th at 12N. Rain Date is April 13th at 2PM.

Approval of a request to store the Deuce Brush Truck and a red trailer in the Municipal parking lot in the back during construction.

The Chief issued an invitation to Supervisors and Administrative staff to a ground breaking ceremony on March 20th at 11AM. Construction on the new building will begin soon and is estimated to last 5 months.

I was unable to view the upper nazareth meeting on 3/5 because I do not have zoom. however I think that their are some issues to be addressed in my neighbor hood. there is a person or persons who are constantly complaining about things and I think that they need to talk to whoever they have a complaint with. if this concerns me on any way I would certainly be willing to meet with person and if I offended them I would apologize. I think that it is time to resolve this or stop complaining. I am willing to meet with a representative of the township in this matter. pat mirakovits

    1. I only report on the meetings. I am not a township employee. If you want to speak with someone about a local issue, I recommend you contact the office manager or one of the supervisors. Their contact information should be listed on the township website.
