SUPERVISOR COMMENTS

Approval of a Preliminary KARST geology Assessment by Gilmore & Associates not to exceed $50,000 by a vote of 4-to-1 (Mike Rinker voted against).

  • In the discussion preceding the vote, William Bartlett said township ordinances currently requires developers to do an assessment and this study will provide Upper Nazareth with its own data. Scott Sylvainus pointed out that, when the Intermediate School was built, the developer’s proposal didn’t flag the issues with sinkholes in the area and that this study won’t deny development but can be used to make sure any proposed buildings are constructed correctly. Brian Sayago said the information can be used to update SALDO. Kristin Mullen pointed out that the $50K price tag is not in the township’s budget. Manager Lisa Klem said that the money will have to come out of the Reserve fund.
  • Scott Sylvainus said that, after the study is completed, findings will be presented in a public meeting and that the County also has a hazard mapping project underway.

TOWNSHIP ENGINEER

The Engineer reported that the developer for the Tadmor 2 project is coordinating with NorFolk Southern to get improvements done.

TOWNSHIP MANAGER

Approval to waive the fee for Memorial Library of Nazareth and Vicinity to use the Large Pavilion in Tuskes Parks on Tuesdays from June 17th to July 29th for their Summer Reading Program.

The 2024 4th Quarter/Annual Police Pension Performance Report from Girard is available for review. Brian Sayago requested Lisa Klem schedule a meeting with Girard to make sure it is adequately funded.

Lisa reported that the lights in the new meeting room had been replaced recently, but the company sent over the wrong bulbs. They are scheduled to be replaced later in the week.
