PUBLIC COMMENTS

A resident of Sycamore Street expressed concerns with the playground being installed at Sycamore Park. He claimed the water isn’t draining out of the swale, that the area has become a home to ducks, deer and snakes and, with the weather getting hotter, the standing water will serve as a breeding ground for mosquitos. He claims it takes more than 4-6 days for any water to drain following a storm and is worried about the safety of the children and lawsuits which may be filed against the township if there is an accident.

Residents of Penn Allen Road asked why they are not on the annual budget for road repair, claiming they haven’t seen any maintenance in their area in years. (At prior meetings, residents have complained about road shoulders collapsing). Shawn Shupe from Public Works said they will do maintenance on the shoulders this year. They said they can’t move their mailboxes closer to the road because of a drainage pipe. The residents also thanked the Chief of Police for temporarily installing a speed monitor saying that slowed traffic down for several days. Chief Cope said they would be installing another speed monitor soon. The residents suggested the speed on that section of road be reduced to 25 mph from 35 mph.
