The Planning Commission met on July 10th and heard a proposal for an apartment complex on the property next to Calandra’s Cheese Factory – 350 E. Lawn Road in Upper Nazareth, PA. The applicant is One More Properties, LLC, the development is called Aspire Nazareth. The developer presented on two plans previously submitted this year on May 21st and June 17th. Approximately 20 members of the public attended.
The proposal is for 5 buildings, 3 stories each, to house a total of 154 apartments. No numbers were provided on how many 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom units would be included. The only entrance and exit would be onto Friedenstahl Avenue.
I was not able to attend, but someone who did said the plan was missing key details including 1) a traffic study conducted when school is in session, 2) a plan for stormwater run off (the current plan seems to be to direct it into the Middle School property) and 3) a geological study of the area.
The developer closed by saying the plan was very preliminary. The Planning Commission tabled both plans.
The Zoning Officer previously rejected this proposed development. An appeal to the Zoning Hearing Board has been scheduled for July 30, 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Upper Nazareth Municipal Building, 100 Newport Avenue. The meeting is open to the public.
Many thanks to Jeannie Morgano for covering this meeting.
