SUPERVISORS
Kay Builders wants to plant streetside trees along Scenic View Drive, species include Red Maples, White Oak and Green Ash. Several of the residents have stated that they do not want the trees on their properties. Lisa Klem will set up a meeting with Kay Builders to see if the unwanted trees can be relocated somewhere else, such as Tuskes Park or Harvest Grove.
TOWNSHIP ENGINEER
Approval to advertise a bid for the Penn Dixie Bridge Rehabilitation Project. Brian Sayago asked why this project was necessary. Public Works Director Shawn Shupe said the Penn Dixie bridge is the only bridge inspected by the State and it has received a poor performance review for scouring, curbs, etc. These improvements are expected to increase the bridge’s rating. The cost of the rehabilitation will be covered by the Liquid Fuel budget, not the General Fund.

TOWNSHIP SOLICITOR

PLANNING AND ZONING
Approval of an Extension Request from Aspire Nazareth for Plans #1 and #2 until December 31, 2025. A Zoning Hearing Board will be held in the Nazareth Middle Auditorium on October 29th at 6:30PM. This is in regards to Aspire Nazareth project which seeks to build 154 apartments on the lot at the intersection of Friedenstahl Ave and East Lawn Road.
EAC
William Bartlett reported that Edge of the Woods has a rough plan in place for planting at Harvest Grove (located at the intersection of Newburg and Gun Club Roads) this Fall/Winter.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Chief Fassl requested different signage prohibiting parking on Newport Road. People are parking along the street despite the “No Parking” signs and the trucks are having trouble making the turn when they go out for calls.
NASD has changed the location of its bonfire scheduled for October 23rd. Instead of Upper Nazareth, it will now be held in Lower Nazareth.
Becky Bartlett covers these meetings because citizens have a right to know what their government is doing.
