ANNOUNCEMENTS/EVENTS

Notice – The Wednesday hours at the Yard Waste Facility on Friedenstahl Avenue are changing to 11AM-to-5 PM due to daylight savings time. There is no outdoor lighting at the Yard Waste Facility.

November 9th – Budget Meeting at 6:00PM

November 19th – Budget Meeting at 6:00PM

November 22nd – Last day to use the Yard Waste Facility on Friedenstahl Avenue

November 28th – 6:00 PM Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Township Building

SUPERVISORS

An item on the agenda called for approval of an additional $75,000 to be added to the Police Pension fund. No one made a motion so it died.

Approval to accept 25 arborvitaes from Kay Builders. Kay Builders is planting shade trees along Scenic View, but several homeowners don’t want them. The arborvitaes will be planted in the field behind the township building. The shade trees along Scenic View will be planted behind the right of way on the properties.

TOWNSHIP SOLICITOR

Approval of a Culvert Site Plan Improvement Agreement for MorningStar Senior Living at Heritage Village.

TOWNSHIP MANAGER/ADMINISTRATION

Approval to advertise the 2026 General Fund Budget and Liquid Fuels Budget. The 2026 General Fund budget does not include a tax increase.

Approval for Gary Asteak to draft an ordinance to implement a fire tax in the township. The fire tax will be 1.5 mils and will cost most homeowners between $6 and $7.5 per month. Fire Chief Fassl was in attendance and spoke about the need to replace trucks and other equipment. The new pumper truck is estimated to cost $1.3 million. He pointed out that hoagie and flower sales cannot cover these kinds of expenses.

Approval of the 2026 Holiday Schedule.

Approval of Resolution No. 25-17 to apply for a Local Share Account Grant for $340K to purchase a new dump truck for the Public Works Department.

PLANNING AND ZONING

Approval of Resolution No. 25-18 for the Penn Dixie Commercial Plan. The Planning Commission approved the plan at their meeting on October 9, 2025.

PUBLIC WORKS

Approval to order a Backhoe which will be leased for 5 years with an annual payment of $33,588.

RECREATION

Approval to have a fire pit at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 28th.

EAC

Approval to appoint Anthony Zotynia to the committee with a term to end on December 31, 2027.

Approval for Gary Asteak to put recommended changes into the Draft Easement Agreement.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

Approval to terminate a police department employee.

FIRE DEPARTMENT

Chief Fassl announced that Met Ed will replace the transformers behind the fire house on Nov. 6th, weather permitting, and that power will be out in that area for ½ of the day.

Next week, Newport Ave. will be closed for the installment of a new gas line.
