ANNOUNCEMENTS
November 19th – Last day in 2022 for the Yard Waste Facility at Friedenstahl Ave. (10AM-2PM)
Weekly curbside Leaf pickup will run as long as it is needed
December 2nd – Tree lighting ceremony at the Township Building at 7:00PM. Santa will make an appearance, hot cocoa will be available and a High School group will provide music
December 21st – Conditional Use Hearing for Morningstar Senior Living at 6:30PM
December 22nd – Employee Appreciation Lunch
January 3, 2023 – Reorganization meeting
January 4, 2023 – Auditor’s Meeting
June 10, 2023 – Electronic Recycling Event from 9AM-11AM at 2 locations: the Yard Waste Facility on Friedenstahl Avenue and Tuskes Park. UNT Residents only!
PUBLIC COMMENT
A resident from St. Elmo’s Street thanked the Supervisors for their action on the house with the rat infestation. She reported that things are moving quickly now with the house being emptied of trash and treatments from an exterminator. Solicitor Gary Asteak thanked residents for their patience, explaining that the township had needed time to work through the legal process and for the Court appoint a Guardian for the homeowner.
The neighbor asked if there was a chance she could be reimbursed for the $500 she paid for rat trapping services. Gary told her to make a claim through the Guardian
SUPERVISORS
Morningstar Senior Living applied for a Conditional Use application. The Supervisors will hold a hearing at 6:30PM on December 21st.
ENGINEER
The MS4/Stormwater repairs at the Farmview basin have not been completed yet due to uncooperative weather conditions
SOLICITOR
Adoption of Ordinance No. 189 – amending the Code of Ordinances Chapter 21 Part 2—Street Cuts and Excavations
TOWNSHIP MANAGER
Approval by a vote of 4-to-1 to adopt Resolution No. 22-17 to amend the 2022 Fee Schedule for Street Cut & Excavation Fees (Brian Sayago voted against because the schedule had not been published beforehand)
Approval by a vote of 4-to-1 to adopt Resolution No. 22-16, Act 57 Property Tax Penalty Waiver Provisions. The new penalties go into effect on January 1st
Approval to adopt Resolution No. 22-18, to designate Pension Plan Officials (Scott Sylvanius and Deanne Werkheiser)
Approval by a vote of 4-to-1 (Robert Disbrow against) to accept the 2023 Holiday Schedule
Approval for the Home Town Press to publish the 2023 Spring & Fall newsletter
PLANNING AND ZONING
Approval for an extension to Dec 31st for Overlook Estates
PUBLIC WORKS
Approval to purchase a Truck and mounted Leaf Collector. The equipment will be paid for by a grant along with a $48K match from the township. The township hopes to get the truck by Fall 2023
Approval to accept a resignation letter from a part-time Public Works employee
Approval to advertise for a part-time Public Works employee
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
In 2023 a review will be conducted of all critical infrastructure in Upper Nazareth
