Residents express concerns about voting at Butz Elementary

Nazareth Area School Board Meeting – October 17, 2016

Community Concerns

A parent expressed concerns about the public voting at Butz Elementary School on Nov. 8th while school is in session.

  • Riker previously tried to bar elections from being held in Nazareth schools but a judge threw it out
  • There will be more police outside the school on Nov. 8th to keep control. The school will have gates in the hallways to separate voters from student areas
  • Riker says security of the students comes first but they think there will be enough security that it is not necessary to close school that day.

Agenda Items

Item  VII, XI and XIII passed.

Becky Bartlett is an Upper Nazareth resident and covers these meetings because residents have a right to be informed about what their government is doing.  Many thanks to William Bartlett for attending this meeting.
