Upper Nazareth Supervisor’s Meeting – November 4, 2026
Absent – JR Williams
ANNOUNCEMENTS/EVENTS
November 28th – 6:00PM Tree Lighting at the Township Building
PUBLIC HEARING
Ordinance No. 208 – Portions of Michaels School Road One Way.
The Supervisors voted to approve Ordinance No. 208 which will change part of Michaels School Road to being ‘one-way.’
COURTESY OF THE FLOOR
A resident complained about the new building going up on the corner of Friedenstahl Ave and Route 191, claiming it is too tall and will be even taller once the roof goes on. She thought the building would only be 2 ½ stories tall but it looks like 3 stories. Scott Sylvainus said that the building falls under the old zoning ordinance and can’t be higher than 35 feet. The township manager said she would check into any possible variances the project might have received.
TOWNSHIP ENGINEER
The Engineer reported that he will meet with the school district next week to go over stormwater requirements and concerns about KARST geology on the land at the corner of Friedenstahl Ave. (NASD wants to put sports fields on the former Calandra property).
The paving project on Gun Club Road and Sterner/Michaels School roads are complete.
He spoke with PennDOT about the swale and the cross pipes on Tatamy Road. PennDOT plans to clean out the swale in the spring and will wash out the cross pipes, which are currently filled with sediment, this fall or next spring.
TOWNSHIP MANAGER
Approval of the 2027 Holiday schedule which includes 13 holidays plus 1 floating holiday employees can use for their birthday or another occasion.
The 2026 3rd Quarter Girard Police Pension Report is available for review.
PUBLIC WORKS
Due to daylight savings time, and the lack of lights at the Yard Waste facility on Friedenstahl Ave, the hours on Wednesday will change to 11AM – 5PM.
RECREATION
Supervisors approved two fire pits at the Annual Tree Lighting ceremony on Nov. 27 at 6:00PM. The fire pits are provided by a donor.
EAC
William Bartlett reported that 2026 plantings at Harvest Grove have been completed.
The supervisors voted to approve changes in some of the trees.
