Pursuant to the Noncoal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act and the Clean Streams Law notice is hereby given that Lehigh Cement Company, LLC, 3938 Easton Nazareth Highway, Nazareth, PA 18064, has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for the renewal of an individual NPDES Permit Associated with Mining Activities at their Imperial Quarry. The Permit area totals 124 acres and is situated south of Rt. 248 in Lower and Upper Nazareth Townships in Northampton County. The receiving stream for this proposed permit area is an unnamed tributary of the East Branch of Monocacy Creek, 25 Pa Code Chapter 93 anti-degradation classification HQ-CWF, MF.

A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Upper Nazareth Township Municipal Building, 100 Newport Avenue, Nazareth, PA 18064. and the Department of Environmental Protection, Pottsville District Office, 5 West Laurel Boulevard, Pottsville, PA 17901-2322. Written comments, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection, Pottsville District Mining Office, 5 West Laurel Boulevard, Pottsville, PA 17901. These must be received by October 25, 2019 which is 30 days after the final weekly publication of this notice on September 25, 2019 and must include the person’s name, address, telephone number , and a brief statement as to the nature of the objections.
