                                Nazareth Area School Board Meeting

                                              September 28, 2015

School Board members made no statements on the contract negotiations with district teachers even though 14 plus members of the Nazareth Area Education Association (NAEA) sat in a sea of orange on one side of the room.  During the Superintendent’s Report, that the Fact Finding Report commissioned by the school district would be available soon. Details should be presented at the next meeting (October 19, 2015)

Tonight’s meeting lasted less than 20 minutes.

High School News

• Principal Davis presented 2 seniors with commendations from the National Merit Scholarship Committee.

• Two groups of students were recognized for first place prizes in producing 60 Public Service Announcements with PBS.

• Homecoming is this weekend. There will be a dance on Friday and a football game with Northampton HS this weekend.

NASD now has 4,675 students enrolled, an increase from the 4,657 announced earlier in the month.

Becky Bartlett is a candidate for Upper Nazareth Supervisor. The election is on November 3^rd.
