Nazareth School Board Meeting – October 16, 2017
Student Achievement
Dr. Riker presented a video on anti-bullying, produced by two Nazareth students—Geneviere and Joseph Burke. The video was shown on The Today Show.
The students at CIT have started their next housing project and the foundation has already been poured.
Community Concerns
A resident expressed concern about students crossing Friedenstahl Avenue. Too many cars speed on that road and some drivers refuse to stop when children are in the crosswalk. Dr. Riker said school security officials are not allowed to leave school property and, therefore, cannot police the area.
District Budget
The bonds have been refinanced with an average cost of salaries and benefits at $3.7 million.
