April 4, 2018 – Upper Nazareth Supervisors Meeting
Announcements

Curb-side yard waste will be collected from April 16-20th
The yard waste facility opens on April 21st
Community Concerns
The township is looking to post weight restrictions and bond roads before construction of the PennEast Pipeline begins.
The Planning Commission is working on an official map of the township. Adopting it will require an ordinance presented at a public meeting before it can be adopted.
Although it is outside of Upper Nazareth township, there was a discussion about traffic light at the intersection of Tatamy and VanBuren Roads. The light is not timed very well. Hopefully someone will contact Palmer Township about it.
Safety Discussion on Friedenstahl Avenue
Hiring a crossing guard to escort students across Friedenstahl Avenue would cost $7,000/year for salary and workman’s comp insurance. If the supervisors go with this option, there will be a several week delay for candidates to receive child abuse clearances.
The supervisors voted to advertise a public meeting where they will discuss lowering the speed limit on the road to 35 mph. One resident encouraged police to hand out tickets pointing out, “No one speeds through Tatamy.”
