Supervisors unanimously approved the Open Space Referendum Ordinance No. 182 at their June 5th meeting. In November, Upper Nazareth Township residents will vote on giving the township the option to levy a 0.25% tax on earned income, using those funds to preserve open space and agricultural land.

Lower Nazareth Township passed a similar referendum in the primary. Bushkill and Moore townships have had such a tax in place for years.
Preserving land may be the only way to halt the spread of warehouses in the area.
The election will be held on November 5th.
