Resident encourages homeowners to take security precautions

UNT Supervisor’s Meeting – July 6, 2022

ANNOUNCEMENTS

A meeting on the MS4/Stormwater program will be held at 6:00PM on July 20th

PUBLIC COMMENT

A resident provided handouts concerning an issue he’d raised at a previous Supervisor meeting. Township Solicitor Gary Asteak said the documents could be accepted.

A resident thanked the UNT Police officers for being ‘very good to her’ when she called them about two young boys trying to break into her house. She also recommended that residents not leave their cars in the driveway with the remote for the garage door inside, claiming there’d been a burglary in Tatamy and that people should lock their doors while they are mowing their lawns. She also requested that the township hold a tree lighting ceremony in December.

SUPERVISORS

An Executive Session was held before the public meeting to discuss Personnel and a real estate purchase

TOWNSHIP ENGINEER

Approval of Heritage Village Phase 1 to end the Maintenance Period and release $21,454.75 from the maintenance security

Approval of Heritage Village Phase 2 for a Letter of Credit Reduction. $195,100.13 maintenance security released

TOWNSHIP SOLICITOR

Gary Asteak requested the approval of the Tadmor 2 Stormwater Management Drainage Agreement be deferred.

Approval for Gary to advertise a vote on the Comprehensive Plan at the first meeting in August. The plan is available for viewing on the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission website:  https://lvpc.org/pdf/Nazareth%20Area%20Comp%20Plan%202030.pdf

TOWNSHIP MANAGER

The 2021 UNT Police Pension Financial Statements from Girard are available for review at the township office

PUBLIC WORKS

Approval for an increase to $24.49/hour for an employee who has finished his probation period.

The tow-behind mower sold on Municibid for $8,300.

RECREATION

Approval for Nazareth Soccer Club to place 2 LED lights on the field at Tuskes Park for fall practices. The lights will point away from the houses and the club will observe the 8PM curfew.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION COMMITTEE

The Committee made a recommendation about preserving a piece of property to the board. It will be discussed at a future meeting.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

The supervisors accepted a resignation and approved offering a full-time position to another officer.
