PUBLIC HEARING
Approval of Ordinance No. 207 – a Zoning Amendment regarding off-street parking and a Thermal Impact Mitigation Plan for data centers.

Joseph Frantz spoke about Project Halo – a non-partisan group advocating for free and fair elections. Volunteers seek to establish a safe and celebratory atmosphere at the polls, encouraging everyone to vote. Information on the group and volunteering can be found at Halovote.org
SUPERVISOR COMMENTS
Supervisors approved all bills except for the one submitted by the contractor who recently installed concrete steps in front of the municipal building. One resident, and a few others, expressed concern about what the contractor is calling a ‘surface crack’ in the concrete.
Approval of an Employee Appreciation lunch to be held on December 23rd.
Scott Sylvainus asked Township Manager Lisa Klem about a grant she recently submitted to install an audio/visual system in the meeting room. She’s requesting $65,700. Brian Sayago expressed approval, saying it’s been very hard to hear some of the recent presentations.
TOWNSHIP ENGINEER
The Engineer reported he had met with the Planning Commission and the Nazareth Area School District about their development plans for the fields at the corner of East Lawn and Friedenstahl Avenue.
PennDOT has accepted UNT’s request to replace a ruptured storm pipe on Route 191.
TOWNSHIP SOLICITOR
Approval to authorize Gary Asteak to intervene in support of the action of the Zoning Hearing Board to dismiss the appeals by One More Properties for the developments Aspire 1 and Aspire 2. (Proposals for apartments on the former Calandra property)
TOWNSHIP MANAGER
The 2026 1st and 2nd Quarter Girard Police Pension Reports are available for review.
Lisa reported on 3 recent LSA grant applications.
- Denied – A $500K grant to help pay for the new pumper truck. (The Fire Chief believes the new truck will be received in February 2027).
- Granted – $100K to pay for upgrades to equipment at Tuskes Park.
- Granted – $100K for a Mack plow/dump truck.
RECREATION
Cars in the Park will be held this Saturday, Sept. 19th from 9AM – 2PM. Food trucks will be on site.
EAC
Edge of the Woods may mow the meadow at Harvest Grove in order to plant trees.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Approval to purchase a Drone to be used for search and rescue operations, to assess hazards, public safety, etc. The drone costs $9,261: $5,000 will come from a Trumbower grant, $4,261 from the Donation Fund.
