A Sycamore Street resident complained about people speeding on the road and asked if speed limit signs could be installed. Currently, Sycamore St. doesn’t have signs. Police Chief Cope said that, since the area is residential, the speed limit should be 25mph. He will put out scanners to gather data on how fast people are driving through the area.
SUPERVISOR COMMENTS
JR Williams said someone who’s attend the last two car shows noticed the township didn’t have a sign. He donated a banner from Future Signs with “Upper Nazareth Township” in white lettering on a blue background. The sign can be used for future township events. The Supervisors requested Lisa Klem send a ‘thank you’ note.
TOWNSHIP ENGINEER
The Engineer reported that he is waiting for the Nazareth Area School District to resubmit a plan for the property at the corner of Friedenstahl Ave and East Lawn Road.
PennDOT should replace the ruptured storm pipe on Route 191 soon.
TOWNSHIP SOLICITOR
Approval to prepare and advertise Ordinance No. 208 which will make Michaels School Road a one-way road, northbound between Route 248 and Sterner Road.
TOWNSHIP MANAGER
Approval of Policy No. 26-02 concerning fence placement within Easements.
Approval of Resolution 26-14, which amends the 2026 Fee Schedule in regards to fences within Easements.
Approval of Resolution No. 26-15, to apply for a Local Share Account Grant for the amount of $290,768 for a new ambulance for the Nazareth Regional Ambulance Corp.
Approval of Resolution No. 26-16 to apply for a Local Share Account Grant for $334,468 to build a new storage building for the Public Works Department on Daniels Road.
Approval to advertise the 2027 General Fund and Liquid Fuels Budgets.
Lisa Klem announced that the 2027 Budget is balanced and does not include a tax increase.
The township received a Northampton County $20,000 Public Safety Grant to help pay for a new Police Vehicle.
The township received a $100,000 Grant for a new Public Works truck.

Leaf pickup should begin towards the end of October.

Approval of an Appraisal for Application No. 2026-01.
William Bartlett announced that some of the trees ordered for planting in Harvest Grove will have to be changed due to problems with viability and availability.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Approval to pay $37,179.48 out of the Fire Tax fund for the new building expansion at the Fire Department.
