Events
September 5th – Community Day at Tuskes Park/ Rain date for fireworks – Sunday, Sept. 6th
- Activities include rides, food vendors, a band, and fireworks
- Volunteers are needed – contact the Township office if you’re interested
- $13,000 has been raised for the event through sponsors and vendors
October 3rd – Touch a Truck at Tuskes Park
October 10th – Hazardous Waste Drop-off event at NCC Main Campus
Audit of Township Books
- Riley & Co. presented the results of the audit to the township supervisors finding the township had adequate revenue to cover expenses and overcharges
- Current total assets – $4.7 million, $37,000 liabilities, $4.6 million – total net position
- The township took in$26,000 more than it spent in government funds
- Supervisors elected to review the material presented and vote at the next meeting whether to accept the results
Construction/Traffic Updates
The light at Friedenstahl Avenue and Route 191
- Progress continues although estimates of when this project will start seems to have slowed down
- No work can begin until Penn DOT issues a HOP (Highway Occupancy Permit)
- The township engineer is working with Hercules for an easement agreement for land adjacent to the intersection
- Current estimate for the project to be completed is the end of July 2016
Christian Springs Road and Alms House Road
- The township engineer found the roads to be inadequate for truck traffic, excepting local deliveries
- Following advertising notices, signs will be posted on both roads
Your Tax Dollars at Work
County Development Block Grant (CDBG)
- A resolution (15-11) for the filing an application for funds will require the township to put up $23,000 over a three year period (2016-2018)
- These grants are used to help low income homeowners pay for repairs which make their homes livable (i.e. new roofs, furnaces, etc.)
Community Day at Tuskes Park on September 5th
- The supervisors approved ~$580 to cover two ads to run in The Key about this event
Becky Bartlett is a candidate for Upper Nazareth Supervisor. The election is on November 3, 2015.
