Board of Supervisor’s Meeting
November 4, 2015
All Supervisors attended. Township manager, Edward Mentry, was absent
Community Concerns
The traffic light at Friedenstahl Avenue and Route 191 was not included on the agenda. I requested an update on this project as the Supervisors have been claiming since July that construction is imminent. At the September meeting attorney Mr. Asteak claimed that the final plans had been filed and that state Representative Joe Emrick had called PennDOT to expedite the process.
Mr. Ytkin said the township has not received the HOP and that PennDOT and Newton Engineering, which drew up the plans, are still exchanging letters. The project will not appear on the agenda until there is something to report. (Editor’s Note: I’ll keep asking)
At the October 7th meeting, a resident complained about Mammana’s Garage being in violation of a local ordinance. Tonight the same resident wanted to know why nothing has been done about this complaint—Mammana’s still has signs posted on his business and multiple cars parked in the front in violation of the ordinance.
The zoning officer says he is working on this but offered no explanation on why something so simple, and handled previously, would take more than a month to solve.
Here’s a link to a news story about the previous violation of the ordinance: http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/nazareth/index.ssf/2014/07/hold_mammana_automotive.html
