ANNOUNCEMENTS/EVENTS

May 30th – Parade of Graduates on East Lawn Rd and others at 6:30PM. (Rain date -May 31st)

ENGINEER

Supervisors approved the Township submitting an application on behalf of the Tadmor 2 Warehouse project to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) concerning widening the Rail Road Crossing on Gun Club Road. The plan includes an upgrade in materials from rubber to concrete.

MANAGER

The 2023 1st Quarter Girard Police Pension Report is now available for review.

Lisa Klem reported that the Administration is seeking technology upgrades for the office. The upgrades will be covered by a grant. Robert Disbrow thanked Lisa and her staff for their work in applying for grants.

MS4

The Engineer reported that testing for the Bushkill watershed came up positive for fecal coliforms. The Township is waiting for direction from the DEP.

FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Fire Chief reported a recent incident of a resident burning sticks and pine cones on their property. The Township policy states that no burning is allowed except for recreational purposes but that there are contradictions with the Ordinance. Gary Asteak said he would look into doing an update.

The Chief also reported that UNT Fire Department has been awarded $1.25 million from a state grant.

Everyone wished Supervisor Kristin Mullen a happy birthday.
