COURTESY OF THE FLOOR

A Broad Street Ext. resident complained about receiving a donation request from the Fire Department (FD) after the township imposed a fire tax last year. She insisted that the FD learn to differentiate between needs and wants. A Mitchell Ave resident echoed her comments, saying the mailer should have explained what they want the money for.

Township Manager Lisa Klem pointed out that the Township Code stipulates that municipalities MUST provide fire protection to their residents. J.R. Williams said that the FD sent the same donation form they’ve used in the past and maybe they should update it.
